"Our Time Under The Sun"
© 2009 (Rough Draft)
As I sit here late this very night,
The words in my mind are not all mine,
For through these rough times, I'm still encouraged by,
So fuel is thrown into a fire that already ignites,
For behind a mirrored mask In which I write.
& time is short per The phantom w/ green eyes,
Time given under the sun is our time.
A time to learn, a time to be wise.
Only one time to live, live it upright.
Seek ye first, you'll be filled with delight.
Turn from wrong for the time is right.
Time to speak or a tongue to bite.
Battles to pick, using up your might.
Is it the time to sale, or time to buy?
$500,000, that's still way to high.
Time is now, demand over supply.
Is it time to be in back, or cut in the lunch line.
No time for patience, no time to unwind,
Can't count to ten because 7 ate nine.
Now you're last in line with a swatted behind.
Like the devil, who comes in descrete disguise.
Don't give into the father of lies.
The feast is on the table, time for it to dine.
On lost souls (the beast) will surely find.
Gnashing their flesh, their teeth they will grind.
Turn from the dark & into the light.
Follow the fruit that fell from the vine.
From same one who turned water into wine.
He'll come like a thief in the middle of the night.
Through the clouds on a horse that is white.
Stay on board, stay in his sight.
This is going to be one hell of a fight.
For there's a time to live, and a time to die.
So join my journey from the beginning of life.
Where time begins when a baby cries.
It's time to sing it a lullaby.
Hold her in your arms, the future looks bright.
Soak it all in, time seems to fly.
One step forward, one step for mankind.
The baby takes a stumble, get back up and try.
For there's a time to fall, but a time to rise.
Little hands and feet, bigger as time goes by.
Next thing you know, time to read and write.
Does it so well, time for parents pride.
Words spoken, the Bible she recites.
A pair of wings growing from both of her sides.
Like an angel with arms open wide.
Flapping in the wind, a bird in the sky.
To the God above, time to rely.
For this is now the sign of times,
Dont let time leave you behind,
Time to open your heart as well as your mind.
At the door there's a knock, the knock is christ.
The keys to heaven, he will help you find.
Love your neighbor, it's a time to be kind.
The candle inside is starting to shine.
He is the way, the truth, and the light.
His heart only comes in one size.
For he see's the tears of yours & wipes.
Like the apple in her father's green eyes.
Later days are numbered, getting hard to memorize.
At 37, time starting to feel more like a crime.
Time has passed, in the wind it lies.
Fades like an echo, in the distance it declines.
Drifting pass the clouds in the sky.
Soon it will be only you and your wife.
Time to hold on, time to hold tight.
Time is becoming a rollercoaster ride.
Full of ups and downs, over the mountain we climb.
No time to give an opinion, no time for advice.
No time to live in fear, no time for any strife.
Only time to be glad, no time to gripe.
Time to get busy like a bee building it's hive.
Ants on the ground, don't have time to take five.
Your time is running out, no time to ask why?
Cell phone in one ear, only time to mime.
Fast as you can thrive, never time to even revive.
Like the wick lit on a bomb, almost time to ignite.
The stage is set, your shy with stage fright.
Camera rolling, but the films black and white.
The last actor standing just said his last line.
The time is up, did you do it all right?
Does an award await you on the other side?
Or did you receive it already, holding the prize.
Or thrown it away, rolled all the dice?
Sunset before it had a chance to even rise.
Or did you live it for him, help the hungry and blind.
Made mistakes, but had time to revise.
Forgave those who once you despised.
Like the father above, the root of the vine.
Miracle after miracle for even those that chastised.
Who else could turn five pieces of bread into the worlds largest fish fry?
Held out his hands, and death was defied.
The rose had withered, but it surely didn't die.
Bloodied and beaten, you're healed by his stripes.
Receive his gift, there's no limit to height.
For above these walls that resemble blue skies.
Sits a place called heaven, the upmost devine.
Where the lion looks out for the lamb on cloud nine.
So look deep deep down, it's a little hard to find.
But, I wouldn't change a thing in this life of mine.
For inside my heart & inside my mind.
Is that same place where the Phantom resides.
For "under the sun, this is our time."
